This science-fiction-augmented-reality-twilight-zone thing is used for a self-actualization narrative for the protagonist to look within and discover who she is and what she really wants. Go to Full Review

ZERO STARS
Forget about things like three act structure, having an empathetic protagonist, or even thematic subtext for that matter, "Discontinued" is content to spin its wheels in existential mud for 90 minutes. Go to Full Review

Imaginative, hilarious, and thought-provoking, “Discontinued” is a must-see for anyone struggling to make sense of an insane world. The ending is surprising, emotional, and remarkably beautiful. It's a film that lingers long after it’s over. Go to Full Review

Sensei H @RT22123944 02/07/2024 I'm actually really shocked by the high scores, unless Rotten Tomatoes has suddenly gotten a whole new low standard scoring system setup for Gen Z, because the realization that this movie is garbage comes around 30 minutes when it reveals the most stupid and obvious conspiracy theory fatalist concept that all Gen Z kids think is the most appropriate excuse for the state of the world today, or some kind of dark explanation so they can deny any personal responsibility or accountability for the future. The only thing that makes me feel like the world is ending, or that none of it had any meaning, or that the future is lost is THIS MOVIE. (Afterward) The only way this movie could have added another star or two is if it had Lawrence Fishburne and the old Ellen Paige in it, which makes this version seem even worse now. See more Mahdiyeh H @RT83521150 07/05/2023 Despite the annoying pacing of its second half, <i>Discontinued<i> runs on a pretty thought-provoking concept, and I found the wry humor integrated into the personality of the main character quite riveting. See more Kurt P @kslappy101 05/28/2023 A good view. Interesting perspective from a young millennial. See more Aldis H @plever 05/15/2023 Has a lot to say, but doesn't say it incredibly strongly, and the choose your own ending is not my bag at all, but Ashley Hutchinson is a wonder. I hope she goes on to have a huge career. She is a breath of fresh air. All the acting is very good actually. A very nice movie that doesn't resonate as well as it could. See more Chester @RT03025588 05/14/2023 This movies seems to be all about contradictions. The actress- to me- is both attractive in appearance and unattractive at the same time, and the personality of the character she portrays both appealing and annoying. "Hell is other people" vs. "No man is an island"? Take your pick. And what does the ending supposed to mean? But there is one thing I know for sure- Robert Picardo is hilarious as the psychiatrist! See more Ryan @M1nDfuLZmB 05/02/2023 Very sad to see the reviews on this. Definitely a very creepy old house styled film where the soundtrack and sound effects are very well done. The jump scares are tasteful and while theres no huge payoff, you're left with a few puzzle pieces at the end to figure out what happened. I highly recommend this movie if you like any of that. Just watched this movie a second time. See more Read all reviews
