Synopsis
In 1989, a woman named Louise (Brigitte Catillon) finds the diary of radical Jewish poet Alfred Katz (Grégoire Colin), who disappeared mysteriously in 1938. Determined to know the truth, Louise seeks the aid of a knowledgeable professor. In a flashback, Katz -- a supporter of Leon Trotsky -- falls for Mila (Anouk Grinberg), a prostitute who marries him instead of her lover, Felix (Xavier Beauvois), a Joseph Stalin supporter. But, in a charged political climate, Katz's bliss may be short-lived.
