This is the most impactful documentary and movie of our time. With the constant erasure of disability history, Disposable Humanity chooses to not shy away from one of the hardest times of history, but to embrace it and share it. We live in a time where we are actively heading toward history repeating itself, from the Olmstead Decision being weakened by the DOJ, to the DOJ siding with the states on Section 504 and integration of people with disabilities, to the Department of Labor weaking Section 503 and our right to work in the community, we are actively heading toward the forced institutionalization of people with disabilities while forced sterilization is legal. Disposable Humanity acknowledges the echoes of history in our modern day and highlights the deeply intertwined ways that the present and past are tied. This is a must watch for everyone-especially those who are or care about a person with a disability. No matter how much you think you know, you will learn from this film.
