See more Megan M Dec 24 A fun, non compicated jaunt into the English countryside to see what is behind the closed and sometimes locked doors of societal position and standing. This isn't a blood feast, however, the fun of slashers is present in what isn't shown or said. Eddie Izzard delivers a tuned performance of intrigue into the character of Doctor Jekyll. Scott Chambers (Rob Stevenson) is naively brought in as our eyes. Lindsay Duncan is wonderful as a red herring evil. Found it enjoyable. See more Joe G 11/04/2024 I think most critics didn't "get it". This is a far better movie than what I had read about. Eddie Izzard is perfect as Dr. Jekyll, both sincere and sinister. And I sensed a real chemistry between Ms. Izzard and her co-star Scott Chambers playing a hapless, desperate, and confused young man with a past. A great addition to gothic horror in general and Hammer productions in particular. Bravo to all involved!
