Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/26/23 Full Review Audience Member Great movie! Great performance of Debora Falabella. The worst and the best of human relations. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/04/23 Full Review Audience Member really good account on brazilian illegal immigrants in new york, their rise and fall. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/09/23 Full Review Audience Member The Brazilian Cinema is getting better and better. After the Cinema Novo, it seemed impossible the back of a good and important cinema movement. During the Collor government, all that had been produced (with a few exceptions) was trash. Not trash in the meaning of underground or something like that, but really bad films. What it has been producing now pleases both public and critic. Most films still show (only) the poverty, the violence, the football, the carnival, but impressive works has been changing the image of Brazil. "Two Lost in a Dirty Night" is not the best example, but it's quiet a good film. The pair of actors is excellent. Roberto Bomtempo and Débora Falabella really get into the character and into that environment of difficulties and violence, dirty and beauty. The film shows perfectly the life of those immigrants that don't have much lucky and, I'm sure, there're million of them. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review Audience Member This film is dark, raw and heavy. It's not the first time that the harsh life of imigrants in NYC is portrayed, that we're shown the real 'American Dream', but this one touched me particulary... Probably because it's so vicioustly realistic, with two main characters so complex. That relashionship between Tonho and Paco, almost Love/Hate, the dark theme and the phenomenal performance of Débora Falabella (it's almost scary, how good it is), make this one of my favourite brazilian films. Brazilian Cinema is not just 'City of God'... Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/10/23 Full Review Read all reviews
