Audience Member Formulaic 50's - 60's musical focusing on the emergence of this thing called rock-and-roll. Story here is added to piece together musical sequences led by Chubby Checker and an assortment of other bands twisting the night away. The fascinating thing for me is the roles played by 30's something women who are emerging from the more traditional subservient roles women played in earlier films. It seems as though they are typically portrayed as conniving, exploitative sex kittens. Lots of older people (40's & 50's?) twisting the night away. Where are the kids that actually drove the emergence of rock-and-roll?
