Barbara Shulgasser Common Sense Media "Don't Log Off" is a competent time capsule of pandemic lockdown anxiety, but it may be something some prefer not to revisit. Rated: 3/5 Sep 19, 2025 Full Review Samantha McLaren MovieJawn There’s a seed of a great idea at the heart of Don’t Log Off, even if it isn’t given the sunlight it needs to thrive. The real question, however, is whether it’s one that audiences actually want to see in 2025. Aug 1, 2025 Full Review Abbie Bernstein Assignment X A mostly-on-Zoom COVID-period thriller. Rated: B- Jul 21, 2025 Full Review Norman Gidney HorrorBuzz What could have fallen into the abyss of found footage faux pas is saved by a lively ensemble, sharp direction, and disciplined writing. Rated: 7/10 Jul 20, 2025 Full Review Aaron Neuwirth We Live Entertainment Trying to balance both conventional cinematic formatting (editing choices, having a score, and jumps in character) and the nature of a Gen Z-styled thriller, the film never really comes together in a way that feels comfortable. Rated: 2/10 Jul 18, 2025 Full Review Karina Adelgaard Heaven of Horror DON’T LOG OFF is a new horror movie that plays out on the screen during the early days of the pandemic lockdown. It’s very efficient with a character-driven plot that works. A pleasant surprise. Rated: 3/5 Jul 18, 2025 Full Review Read all reviews

Will L Bow Ringgggggggggggg! Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 11/22/25 Full Review karen l Well, that's 1 hour and 38 minutes of my life I'll never get back. What a ridiculous ending; they all survive a deranged killer. The entire cast was so annoying and unbelievable; I was hoping Justin would get them all. And what was with the stupid look on Kate's face in the last scene?? Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 11/20/25 Full Review TheMovieSearch R Don’t Log Off attempts to tap into the modern digital-age horror trend, centering around a group of friends communicating online as something sinister unfolds during their video call. The concept isn’t new — it’s one we’ve seen repeatedly in films like Unfriended and Host — but when handled well, it can still generate suspense and intimacy. Unfortunately, this film doesn’t manage to do either. It starts with an interesting enough premise, but quickly collapses under weak writing, unconvincing performances, and direction that never seems to understand its own tone. The biggest issue is that Don’t Log Off doesn’t bring anything fresh to its setup. The movie feels like a rehash of ideas we’ve already seen dozens of times, with none of the innovation or tension that made its predecessors effective. It leans heavily on cheap jump scares, awkward pacing, and artificial dialogue that never sounds like how real people talk. What could have been an unnerving commentary on our obsession with screens instead becomes a muddled mess of fake tension and predictable twists. By the halfway point, the audience can already guess where the story is going, and when it gets there, it’s neither surprising nor satisfying. The cast doesn’t help matters either. None of the performances stand out, and much of the interaction feels forced or overly exaggerated. Rather than capturing genuine fear or camaraderie, the actors come off as uncomfortable and disconnected. It’s as if they don’t trust the material — and frankly, they probably shouldn’t. Every emotional beat feels unearned, and the few attempts at humor or humanity fall flat. You can sense that the director was unsure of how to guide them, which leaves everyone grasping for tone and direction that never solidifies. The production also suffers from technical inconsistencies that hurt immersion. The cinematography — or rather, the webcam framing that defines this subgenre — feels poorly executed. Scenes drag on without rhythm, and the tension never builds properly. Instead of escalating dread, we get repetitive shots of faces frozen in overacted fear or confusion. The editing fails to maintain suspense, cutting away at moments that should have lingered, and lingering during moments that should have been cut. And then there’s the story itself — which, for lack of a better word, is baffling. By the time the truth behind the night’s events is revealed, it feels both overcomplicated and underdeveloped. The ending tries to be shocking or clever, but instead, it leaves the viewer feeling cheated. You sit through the entire film expecting a payoff, only to realize the film has nothing new or meaningful to say. There’s no moral, no genuine twist, no sense of completion. Just a shrug of an ending that makes you question why you stayed logged on in the first place. In the end, Don’t Log Off is another failed attempt at digital horror. It mistakes a trendy premise for a compelling story and forgets that audiences need more than jump scares and webcam angles to feel engaged. The lack of focus, poor performances, and predictable writing make this one easy to skip. If you’re looking for something in the same style that actually works, revisit Host or Unfriended — at least those films understand how to make your screen feel like a portal to terror. This one, sadly, is just another buffering disappointment. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 11/07/25 Full Review Charles P Holy Christ, it's like a fart that was held in since the pandemic. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 11/07/25 Full Review inta k so typical for these kinds of movies. with mediocre acting and not much of the plot twists. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 11/02/25 Full Review Stephen G. Opening starts with a tragedy, and I can't wait to see if it comes into play later in the film. We've got our characters dealing with the new life that covid 19 put the world through, and something is off already. This is a bonkers "who done it", everybody is acting beyond foolish and making rash decisions. This was actually not that bad, and it's kind of fun "in a punch you in the face" kinda way.
