Nick Allen RogerEbert.com As the story works visually but becomes emotionally incomprehensive, Bragana proves that he's far more of a filmmaker than a storyteller. Jan 26, 2017 Full Review Sheri Linden The Hollywood Reporter An ambitious genre meld that never quite shakes off self-consciousness. Jan 23, 2017 Full Review Jay Weissberg Variety An adolescent Brazilian boy's love for a Paraguayan Guarani girl is set against the pained historical residue of violent conflict in this over-heated, unsatisfying debut. Audience Member In every scene, the lead character, and others, lights up a cigarette. Why? Are they obliged by big tobacco to show smoking. Especially in this turkey, where half the cast are kids, I guess they need to promote smoking and influence the underage to start. A real waste of time. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/11/23 Full Review Spencer P Unpleasant, unforgiving, nonsensical, and completely soaked in self-seriousness, this would-be nostalgic teen adventure is actually a jumbled mess with paper-thin characters.
