Simon Abrams RogerEbert.com A lightly metaphysical body count movie set primarily in a beat-up recreational vehicle, it meanders more than it purposefully goes anywhere. That’s a compliment, mostly. Rated: 2.5/4 Sep 6, 2024 Full Review Jeffrey Lyles Lyles' Movie Files Horror thriller fans looking for a good scare probably need to catch another ride. This one has too many problems to justify taking the road trip. Rated: 3/10 Oct 5, 2024 Full Review Joel Copling Spectrum Culture It’s hard to doubt that some of the film’s effectiveness was the unintentional result of a very low budget. Sep 12, 2024 Full Review Abbie Bernstein Assignment X Horror in and around a stopped RV. Rated: B- Sep 10, 2024 Full Review Todd Jorgenson Cinemalogue ... takes itself too seriously instead of leaning into the campy absurdity. Sep 6, 2024 Full Review Kat Hughes THN Don't Turn Out the Lights pays respect to well-trodden horror tropes whilst at the same time subverting them, creating a wicked movie that could sit alongside Bodies, Bodies, Bodies and Talk to Me in the pantheon of new modern teen centric horror. A_ P This had the potential of being good. I think the writers/directors had the idea of this being a campy comedy/horror, but it fell flat. Half of it being because the acting was bad and so over-acted, and secondly, it was incoherent. It was going in different directions, without there ever really being any explanations. Some movies leave the ending mysterious so the watchers can create their own theories, but nobody could even do that because it was so messy, going in multiple different directions throughout the movie, there was no possible way I could figure out the ending and what actually happened. It did have a few moments to it that were a little creepy. The only reason I even turned it on was because the trailer looked interesting. But the trailer was 50 times better than the movie itself. Wouldn’t recommend. Glad I was able to watch it for free on a Hulu 30 day trial. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 11/29/24 Full Review Justin K I really dug this movie for the most part. Some parts were a bit overacted. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 11/15/24 Full Review Audience Member It was such a random movie a demonic supernatural movie mostly centred around an RV ... there was barely any horror there was a bit of blood but the kills was off screen I didn't hate the cast I reckon they did a good job but could've been better it felt like I knew what was gonna happen during the film very predictable Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 11/10/24 Full Review Shawna I I think what they should have done is increase the amount of possibilities 10 fold and it might’ve turned out to be an ok thriller comedy. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 11/05/24 Full Review Sparks T This movie was about the fear of the unknown, the gaps between our reality and imagination. It highlights all of our collective fears. I believe characters were meant to put on a fake (almost too happy) face in the beginning to reel us in to the seriousness at the end. Let’s be honest we put on our best face for friends, and this movie challenges taking off that mask. It forces characters to make hard decisions and this is what defines us in the end. Death leads to another dimension, and that is terrifying for our minds to understand. This movie has depth if you are willing to find it. Definitely worth a watch if you like thriller movies with some eerie scenes. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 11/03/24 Full Review M E Has alot of typical horror movie tropes but fails to truly execute any of them. It feels like this movie wasn't sure what it wanted to be and got lost trying to be to much. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 11/03/24 Full Review Read all reviews
