Audience Member Dek hor (Dorm or My School) is a 2006 Thai horror-drama film directed and written by Songyos Sugmakanan. It stars Charlie Trairat and Chintara Sukapatana. It was distributed by GMM Tai Hub. It opened in wide release in Thailand on February 23, 2006, and was the No. 1 film that weekend, earning nearly USD $544,000. It received praise from critics for the performances of the child actors and Chintara Sukapatana, as well as for its color-drained photography and the production design of the old boarding school. The film was co-written and directed by Songyos Sugmakanan, one of the six directors of the 2003 hit Thai film Fan Chan, which also starred Charlie Trairat. Vision wrote: "father and son hate/love relationship. Boy gets sent to a border school. he basically didn't even do anything wrong. Didn't really understand the dream sequences but I understood the dreams correlating to his loneliness and the attachment theory. A bunch of boys in a boarding school isolated from each other. Unearthing a homicide. Admire the ending and the ending song. Powerful performance by Charlie Trairat. Two and a half fries for cinematography, editing and some stints of powerful acting." Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 06/13/25 Full Review Garcia S it a friendship to be good but movie is so tried Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/23/23 Full Review Audience Member More like "Let the Right one In". Not as much horror as a movie about friendship plus the creep factor in some parts. There were many layers of emotions being represented in this film. It was a nice movie to watch but just not one that made me want to watch it again or to excitedly tell someone else about. If you can catch it on Netflix and you like a good story but not a real horror story, than you will enjoy this. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/10/23 Full Review Audience Member (*** 1/2): Thumbs Up One of the best Thai horror films I've seen. Well-acted and directed. A well-paced ghost story that is worth seeking out. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/18/23 Full Review Audience Member Similar to Devil's Backbone, but much sadder and darker. More of a ghost story than a horror but it will leave you in tears at the end :) Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/12/23 Full Review Audience Member This is a great movie, with more than just suspense and horror. Truthfully, I tuned in at first because it was free and said "horror," but kept watching because it turned out to be deeper than just a ghost story- Mystery and based on a child's struggle for friendship and to accept his life.
