Jade Li (Sandra Oh) is an independent 22-year-old Chinese-Canadian struggling to live the life she wants while not disappointing her traditional Chinese parents. In an effort to encourage their daughter to start a family, Jade's parents set her up on a series of dates with nice, traditional Chinese boys, but Jade is not interested. When she meets a Caucasian grad student named Mark (Callum Rennie), she has to decide how much her own happiness is worth.

Double Happiness is not a deep or brilliant film, but that's not its purpose. It establishes a chatty, confiding tone right at the top and follows through, like a long letter from a good friend.

I really liked this film. It was nothing special really and it might seem a bit low budget, but I thought it was presented so well plus I found it to be very relatable and moving. And oh, the main couple was so cute, just adorable how they connected.

This is just a lot of fun and how can you hate Sandra Oh. It's nice to see her playing her ethnicity up and being young (except that she always looks young). Not much to say... it was funny, smart, relatable... VERY relatable for now. Just a well made film! Nothing overly special, just well done! Oh, makes the film however. The boyfriend was a little weird, not quite what he should have been, hard to read.
