S R @ScottR Apr 1 This one surprised me. A beautiful and forgotten film, restored by Scorsese. This film also was on the IMDb 250 list and I am glad it was. One of the final films before the Shah was deposed, it really showed a unique culture in Iran and this romance captured it. SLC DVD. See more 02/11/2021 Downpour, though conventionally enjoyable, is not to be dismissed as frivolous. Beyzaie tells the story not as a romance but as a socially conscious melancholy comedy of sorts. Between the gaping seams, one can see the confidence that the filmmaker has imbued in every aspect of this, his first film.
