In the end, Dracula: A Love Tale isn’t a cinematic milestone, but it is a compelling, emotionally charged story that’s less terrifying and more heartbreakingly human. Go to Full Review

With a focus on yearning and romance, and an excellent lead performance, Dracula: A Love Tale nails the elements of gothic horror that viewers long for. However, not all elements work, with an elongated run-time and some tonally inconsistent choices. Go to Full Review

Hana Marta b Oct 27 I’m in love this movie is a beautiful love story such chemistry such a beautiful acting from main actors you got lost and in love with the Dracula you forget about the time you forget about the killings and you just feel love and desire this kind of love there is nowhere to find I cried in the end I sincerely hope that anybody who is looking and thinking what’s wrong with this world watch this movie and understand what love is and what real yearning is. See more chris m Oct 26 a summary of an unfaithful adaptation. luc besson demonstrates with 'dracula: a love tale' that having a classic in your hands is not enough to make good cinema. his adaptation of bram stoker's book is, quite simply, a disaster on almost every possible level. instead of paying homage to the gothic atmosphere and the meticulous character development of the original, he turns the story into a soulless, rhythmless, and incoherent romantic melodrama. from the start, it is clear that besson is not interested in the essence of 'dracula', but in molding the story to his own style, even if it means completely betraying the source material. the characters, who in the novel evolve with psychological and moral depth, here are simple figures without direction or motivation. the count loses his tragic magnetism and becomes an empty protagonist, while the rest of the cast barely has anything to do. matilda de angelis, who plays Maria, delivers a performance that borders on unbearable. her gestures, tone, and reactions seem taken from a cheap soap opera. there is no subtlety or real emotion, only an excess of dramatization that ends up looking ridiculous. not even the rest of the cast manages to balance things; they all seem disconnected, trapped in a direction that does not know where it is going. the staging is another weak point. the visual effects, far from impressing, feel artificial and constantly clash with the tone the film is trying to achieve. dracula's castle, which should be a character in itself, is reduced to a mere digital backdrop without life or presence. everything feels plastic, improvised, and lacking the oppressive atmosphere that should accompany a story of this caliber. the climax, for lack of a better term, is a succession of clumsy and poorly choreographed scenes. the fights seem like rehearsals accidentally filmed, and the editing lacks any kind of tension or narrative sense. besson tries to give it an epic touch, but the result is so forced that it borders on parody. i understand that every director wants to offer their personal interpretation, but a reinterpretation should not mean destroying the essence of what is being adapted. Loved this take – different, magical, and engaging. Captured my heart from beginning to end~ Just breath-taking! The production was amazing, the music superb, and the casting perfect! Both Jones & Bleu did a great job with these characters. Complete chemistry~ Jones has become a serious actor to be reckoned with – he’s come a long way since his debut in "No Country for Old Men". He made this age-old character of Count Dracula hauntingly memorable. Bravo! See more Gregory S Oct 24 I really loved this movie. It is a completely different view of a story that we have heard and watched multiple times. It really is incredible. Bravo to the writers, the director, and the actors. See more Vladimir D Oct 23 True to original story with small but tasty twists but also with not adequate budget to pull it to the level it deserves. Cast is decent, Caleb did a wonderful performance while the rest of the crew followed his footsteps are quite forgettable in general. Except for Maria which is my favorite character in the movie. The only thing I didn't like about this movie is ending. It came too fast, makes almost no sense and don't think it was supposed to be like this. And I can't get rid of the thought that this whole movie was quite unnecessary. It didn't bring anything new to the already told story and it definitely didn't outpace the original and that's why I asked myself what was the point of shooting it ij first place at all. It's not a bad movie, just unnecessary one. See more Read all reviews
