Richard B @Komard Jan 4 Dragged Across Concrete has a solid crime-thriller premise and strong performances, particularly from Mel Gibson, who remains compelling even in morally abrasive roles. The story itself is engaging, tense, and thematically grounded in desperation, loyalty, and consequence. However, the film is held back by its pacing. The opening act in particular is unnecessarily drawn out, delaying momentum and testing patience before the plot fully engages. What should feel taut instead unfolds slowly, with long stretches that dilute tension rather than build it. Once the narrative settles in, the payoff is effective, but the journey to get there is longer than it needs to be. With tighter editing and more urgency early on, this could have been a much stronger film. As it stands, it’s a good movie that could have been better—worth watching, but not without pacing-related frustration. See more Bil K Nov 29 I thought (incorrectly so) that the cast would pull this movie out of the garbage, I WAS WRONG. This director IS THE WORST EVER! The sequences make NO SENSE in the order they are shown. ABSOLUTELY NO CHEMISTRY between ANY OF THE ACTORS. Vaughn is the only one who pulls it off, and just barely.
