What to Know

Critics Consensus

As grim and grinding as its title, Dragged Across Concrete opts for slow-burning drama instead of high-speed thrills -- and has just the right cast to make it work.

Philip De Semlyen Time Out The dialogue has a nicely off-kilter feel. Rated: 3/5 Aug 4, 2020 Full Review Amy Nicholson FilmWeek (KPCC - NPR Los Angeles) Dirty, angry, and it feels like it wants to pick a fight with you. Sep 24, 2019 Full Review Paul Byrnes Sydney Morning Herald Dragged Across Concrete feels like you're dangling on the end of a meat hook. It's painful and tense and at the same time, a little ridiculous... Even then, it's full of surprises, and riches for those who like it darker. Rated: 4/5 Aug 28, 2019 Full Review Calum Cooper Source (Scotland) The film is meant to be an endurance test, from its usage of violence and slurs, to its surprising slow burn, something you don’t often see with films of this calibre. But it doesn’t have enough focus to be riveting. Rated: 2/5 Jul 14, 2024 Full Review Brendan Cassidy InSession Film Dragged Across Concrete does what I hope more films had the bravery to do – challenge our beliefs, and make us challenge ourselves in the process. Jul 9, 2024 Full Review Ross McIndoe The Skinny Dragged Across Concrete is an excellent action flick with leads who, when they aren’t bitching about cell phones or correcting Black people’s grammar, are an absolute blast to be around. Rated: 3/5 Jul 4, 2024 Full Review Read all reviews

MG_Claymore C It's a grim and grinding tale. as the name suggests. These two old and out of it cops struggle to fit into todays world. I have to say i expected a bit more from this film. But its worth a watch. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 11/18/24 Full Review Lucky L Very slow movie , no story behind anything . Just a bunch of characters . Sometimes you stop and thinking ; wth am I looking at?. Because there's no story behind . lol 0/10 Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 11/06/24 Full Review Beckler - Pointless. It's a collection of random story fragments that go nowhere. Anyone could've written this. They're bound together only by raw violence and and intensity but it's all pointless. There's some resolution but no satisfaction. Overly violent for what it is. Stallone or other action movies are hyperviolent and pointless too, but they reward you with heavy action and unintentional comedy in their extreme absurdity - this has neither so it's a waste. It's dark, depressing, long; skip it. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 10/08/24 Full Review Anthony C Such an underlooked movie! Really Really well done and Mel kills it as always! Brutal and violent great dialogue.A must see! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/04/24 Full Review Jason W Gritty, gory and grim. Mel Gibson and Vince Vaughn are a golden pairing of grumpy, comedic buddy cops. Very similar to Brawl in Cell Block 99 style wise as expected from S. Craig Zahler. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 09/26/24 Full Review Dave V This is an awesome movie. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/10/24 Full Review Read all reviews
