Diego Semerene Slant Magazine When will American directors understand that it's okay, sometimes even wonderful, for a film to be silent? Rated: 1/4 Mar 27, 2011 Full Review Jeannette Catsoulis New York Times Screaming "vanity project" from every hackneyed frame, "Drawing With Chalk" is yet another example of midlife American males doing all they can to avoid acting their age. Rated: 1/5 Mar 24, 2011 Full Review Ronnie Scheib Variety Chalk suffers overall from a lack of subtlety, as problems abruptly get thrust into the foreground with little buildup or internal consistency. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/16/23 Full Review Audience Member Great story that many adults can relate too; strong script; a beautiful film. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/29/23 Full Review Audience Member It's good movie that anyone in the real world can relate to. It's well written and well acted. The sound track is amazing. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/13/23 Full Review Audience Member Todd Giglio's "Drawing With Chalk" is something of a hand crafted, low budget, soaring, and deeply moving masterpiece. It brings us a familiar concept for a film, and converts it into an original, great looking, and unbelievably well acted experience. The characters are remarkably vivid, developed through out the film with warmth and honesty, played beautifully by the entire cast. The film is a true depiction of the aspects, good or bad, of life, the ways that you can choose to live, and the people that you share it with. For different people, the out come will spring different emotions, but I am quite sure that for the majority of viewers, that the out come of this picture will satisfy and move them unlike most other movies have before. It's a treasure. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/09/23 Full Review Read all reviews
