Robbie Collin Daily Telegraph (UK) 'Dreamlike’ is an easy word to swat around with animation – but this strange and beautiful new film from Studio Colorido really does feel like the product of a child’s imagination on rest mode. Rated: 4/5 Oct 28, 2022 Full Review Kambole Campbell Polygon There’s enough liveliness to Drifting Home that two hours in a single location against a minimal background doesn’t actually feel like overkill. Sep 19, 2022 Full Review Noel Murray Los Angeles Times The deep strangeness of “Drifting Home” can take some time to adjust to. But in this quirky and boisterous picture, the surreal predicament is ultimately just an offshoot of these kids’ common fears about growing up. Sep 16, 2022 Full Review Charles Hartford But Why Tho? A Geek Community Drifting Home delivers a strong cast and deep emotional moments, even if it leaves too many questions unanswered and gets a bit drawn out in its final act. Apr 15, 2023 Full Review Sam Haysom Mashable Weird, surreal, imperfect, and — despite its faults — memorably beautiful. Sep 23, 2022 Full Review Brian Costello Common Sense Media It has some of the perpetual problems of anime, such as at least one character too many and some overwrought emo melodrama. Fortunately, these limitations don't distract from the story, and they are far outweighed by everything that works about this movie Rated: 4/5 Sep 22, 2022 Full Review Read all reviews

Audience Member What a breathtaking experience. This movie follows a group of kids transported on an abandoned apartment complex floating through an endless sea with all of them learning to work and cooperate with one another to survive and escape. The dynamic between Kosuke and Natsume can be frustrating to watch yet engages the audience. Noppo's kindness and supernatural aura makes him the best out of these kids, making his farewell hit like a punch to the stomach. Studiopolis's English dub is not particularly special, a bit weird to hear adults trying to sound like children. The ending can feel a little rushed, but bearable. The animation is breathtaking, amazing lighting with fluid motion to compliment. Unfortunately, its daunting 2 hour runtime, as well as its slower pacing can deter new viewers. Despite that, this film was a pleasure to behold and has been the best movie I've seen in recent memory, deserving of a rating of 8.17/10. A bit saddening the score isn't higher. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 11/11/24 Full Review Wrae T Amazing, must watch, and I will continue to watch. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/15/24 Full Review -LEE KAH THONG æ marvelous , the characters are amazingly well written and look and act like actual children , the visuals and symbolisms are so meaningful and also easy to understand , great watch , 100000/10 Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/24/24 Full Review Jhosep G Great story and character development, even though they're all kids you can still feel their despair. Nonetheless, there was something lacking about the buildings' backgrounds. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/23/23 Full Review Idan Charles L I wanted to like this movie, but it felt unfinished The mystery ended unsolved, and that really pissed me off Rated 3 out of 5 stars 04/30/24 Full Review Read all reviews
