Mark Kermode Kermode & Mayo's Film Review It won't have much cinematic impact...but I quite enjoyed it, even though it's spectacularly wiggy. Nov 15, 2019 Full Review Kevin Maher Times (UK) Sudeikis, alas, is no Cruise and his screen persona is too lightweight to inject the film with genuine empathy or to make it anything other than a disposable teaser for the deeper, darker DeLorean drama that will inevitably follow. Rated: 2/5 Nov 11, 2019 Full Review Tim Hayes Sight & Sound The film gives Pace a blank canvas on which to deploy more screen presence than everyone else combined, often just by directing a deep gaze in the general direction of the camera. Nov 8, 2019 Full Review Ernesto Zelaya Miñano ScreenAnarchy Director Nick Hamm and screenwriter Colin Bateman take this story and turn it into a hip, stylish crime saga, in the same vein as films like Blow and American Made, to name a few. Feb 3, 2023 Full Review Eddie Harrison film-authority.com ...Back to The Future fans, Ted Lasso admirers, petrol-heads and true-crime aficionados will find plenty here to draw them in... Rated: 4/5 Sep 1, 2021 Full Review Tom Beasley VultureHound An enjoyable and sharply scripted movie that benefits from the charisma of its central players. JME Got drawn in almost immediately. Jason Sudekis nails his part. Hate to say it but they probably could have found a better actress to play his wife. Nothing at all against Judy Greer. I, in my opinion just wasn't thrilled with her performance in THIS movie. All in ALL, I had to continue rewinding it over & over bcuz I thought I was missing seconds!!! Lol that's how drawn into it I got!! & glad I did bcuz I 💯 enjoyed the movie experience & have recommended it to pretty much everyone I know whether they've already seen it or not. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 08/25/23 Full Review lanfranco c It is an interesting story. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Ken R While the subject is basically interesting the screenplay and direction for this treatment leave much to be desired. The fact alone, that almost all characters involved are unlikeable will put it at odds with many audiences. Then, trying to squeeze some worthy personality elements from egotistical mainstream conmen (auto magnate John DeLorean, etc) and small-time boy-next-door drug runner (John Hoffman) is a stretch anyway. Performances are mostly on the mark but the potty-mouthed crude dialogue is often overdone and unnecessary. The cars are cool and the production is agreeable but it often feels too far removed from its factual background to remain engaging, and somehow, the pacing makes the whole thing seem much longer than it actually is – this makes for not a good feel. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 07/15/22 Full Review tom m I recently watched another bio-pic film on John DeLorean so it was somewhat interesting to see the telling of the story from a slightly different perspective. It was an okay film. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review dane m Loved it. You'll either like it or love it. But dislike it? No. The acting and the story hold it together to unfurl an intriguing tale. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Just a dreadful waste of time. Jason Sudeikis' worst performance of his less than impressive career. Maybe worth 3 stars if they didn't cast Sudeikis in it. Don't waste your time.
