Daniel M. Kimmel Variety Drunks succeeds in presenting a fictional AA meeting and getting across the idea that alcoholics come from all walks of life... Audience Member I'm grossed out by the overall rating. This movie is one of my new favorites. It might help if you are in recovery. It's a little dramatized (it's based on a play), but they are trying to say a lot in a little over an hour. And Richard Lewis is particularly great in this film. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/28/23 Full Review Audience Member This movie is great. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/25/23 Full Review Audience Member Damn shame this movie fell by the wayside. Brilliant monologues, brilliant performances. Very simple, well-told story. Great shots of mid-90's NYC. Definitely one to check out. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/19/23 Full Review Audience Member I recommend this movie to everyone who has insomnia or sleeping problems.. it'll take you to Morpheus arms before you notice it. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/17/23 Full Review Audience Member Oppresive, banal, contrived and preachey. Not a caracter study but a study in the complete caricature of an AA frequenter. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/11/23 Full Review Audience Member Intelligent movie about alcoholism. Unexpectedly fantastic acting by Richard Lewis and (gasp!) Calista Flockhart.
