I'm grossed out by the overall rating. This movie is one of my new favorites. It might help if you are in recovery. It's a little dramatized (it's based on a play), but they are trying to say a lot in a little over an hour. And Richard Lewis is particularly great in this film.

Damn shame this movie fell by the wayside. Brilliant monologues, brilliant performances. Very simple, well-told story. Great shots of mid-90's NYC. Definitely one to check out.
