Duane Hopwood (David Schwimmer) spends his nights working as a pit boss in Atlantic City, and his days drinking too much and lamenting his lost marriage to Linda (Janeane Garofalo). Just when life is looking its bleakest, police pull him over for drunk driving -- while one of his daughters is sleeping in the back seat. With his visitation rights on the line, Duane starts to focus on the things that are really important, and realize that the time to get his life back on track is running out.

Critics Consensus

Duane Hopwood proves David Schwimmer has dramatic chops that have been too rarely tested onscreen, but fails to engage as an overall viewing experience.

Michael Booth Denver Post [A] remarkably accomplished indie movie ... Rated: 3/4 Sep 19, 2006 Full Review J. R. Jones Chicago Reader ... this downbeat indie drama gives the leads a few excellent scenes together, and they acquit themselves credibly. But there's also a fair amount of wilted comedy from the stock supporting characters ... Audience Member I loved the movie, slow pace and strong script makes it worth while watching. I guess this movie gets enough appreciation if it is released now(2020). It'll touch your heart ❤️ Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/21/23 Full Review Audience Member This movie is so worth the $2.99!!!! Way beyond the reviews for sure... Duane Hopwood - Vastamäessä) Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/23/23 Full Review Audience Member almost no action but lots of feelings.. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/08/23 Full Review Audience Member i mean i dont know what to say about the movies , this really is one of the carrer-turning perfomance of david schwimmer and nice effort by mulhern , that is really one of the best movies i have seen Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/25/23 Full Review Audience Member It's an indie flick that If I were an actor, would wish every other independent movie would turn out like and would be so worth my time filming in between big money motion picture deals. Such a real performance by David Schwimmer along with an authentic plot that could only be written by someone who has been there and done that. This indie picture is worth it and was a solid effort by everyone involved. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/17/23 Full Review Read all reviews
