Katie Walsh Los Angeles Times For all of its serious themes, Duckweed has a whimsical, magical realist sensibility, underscored by quirky musical montages and a penchant for American country songs. Feb 17, 2017 Full Review Maggie Lee Variety More relaxed and carefree than any of the Lunar New Year blockbusters jostling for the holiday crowd, the film is sprinkled with witty grace notes and is crowd-pleasing without being too ingratiating or idiotic. Feb 7, 2017 Full Review Panos Kotzathanasis Asian Movie Pulse "Duckweed" is a very entertaining film, through its combination of comedy, action and drama, which is bound to produce much laughter, particular to the ones who pay close attention. Oct 20, 2019 Full Review Nathanael Hood Audiences Everywhere The film feels unfinished and unfocused, poorly establishing characters and their motivations. nefasto r What a sweet and particular film! Loved it! "Duckweed" seems like a careless and light watch, something on the same note of "Back to the Future" (a comparison that easily pops to mind) but ends up being both funnier and more warmhearted that the eighties American cult.. A father-son fairy tail that will probably win you over before the title shows on screen. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member I only saw 15 minutes.. the review on rottentomatoes praised it so much and with so many good reviews I had to try it.. but 15 minutes in, it's really amateurish at creating a movie style. Maybe it's just me, but the movie was choppy, extremely quick pace and the acting was so superficial that gives it a laughable atmosphere like watching a B horror movie. I don't recommend it. Btw, the translation sucks too. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/14/23 Full Review Audience Member 3.5 FOR long focus lense Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/09/23 Full Review Read all reviews
