Bradley S @Bradaa23 2d I loved Due West, from start to finish. It drew me in, held me, and stayed with me. Adrianne Palicki was phenominal (all the actors were). I'd seen Adrnianne in Friday Night Lights and Agents of Shield, so I knew she was a good actor, but this was truly great. The depth of her emotion, her subtlety, her truth. From seeing so many blockbusters, and don't get me wrong, I love blockbusters, this was wonderful. Writing, directing, acting, cinematography, all done to tell a story that was real, touching, often hard, and often beautiful. Filmmaking in service of telling a great story. See more J K @JGRK78 Aug 21 The acting, the writing, the cinematography, all aspects of DUE WEST are so well done. Going in, I didn't fully realize what the story would be, and I'm glad I didn't; it was even more powerful that way. I was, however, told in advance that the film is not like so many other films today, instant gratification, fast-paced attention-grabbers, but rather it was a slow burn that pays off if you stick with it. It *is* a slow burn, but so worth it. It's the kind of movie that stays with you after. The performances were phenomenal across the board, major kudos to Adrianne Palicki, Henry Thomas, and Joey Oglesby—really all of them, Ciara Bravo... I could go on, but won't, except to reiterate that Adrianne Palicki gives a truly powerhouse performance. Lastly, the writing was fantastic, and the pacing was perfect (especially looking back). I'm going to watch it again soon. See more Major E @MajorFilmBuff Aug 19 I got the privilege of seeing this film at the premiere at the Dallas International Film Festival, where I got to meet the cast, the writers, and the directors. In my opinion, as a conservative Christian, this film tells a great story of desperation to perseverance. It shows us that this difficult topic is also difficult for the characters, which creates a bridge to this world for us. I am grateful for the experience I was granted, but I continue to remain unbiased. 10/10 would recommend. See more Shelby C @RT36461036 Aug 19 Due West perfectly encapsulates one of the most brutal realities of the abortion restrictions across the country. What I appreciate about this film is that it did not try to tackle the overall issue of such reality. Instead it gave us access to the deep and raw emotional spectrum of someone experiencing it. I also appreciate that there was nuance through both the pastor and The Woman, who ultimately makes a decision we, as viewers, aren't privy to. Evan Miller and Hardy Janson share a story that addresses a key issue in today’s society. You love, hate, and ultimately feel a sense of empathy for all the characters you’re suppose to.
