Michael Rechtshaffen Los Angeles Times Comes across as an agency fundraising tool rather than an organic documentary portrait. Jul 30, 2015 Full Review Graham Fuller New York Daily News Sadly, the environmental message is packaged with the humble Dukale extolling Jackman's star status. Rated: 1/5 Jun 3, 2015 Full Review Serena Donadoni Village Voice This documentary exudes Jackman's can-do optimism, but the real star is an Ethiopian coffee grower who's just as enterprising. Jun 2, 2015 Full Review David Noh Film Journal International You never doubt [Hugh Jackman's] sincerity, so it's a bit off-putting that the doc comes across as so self-congratulatory and repetitive. Audience Member A bit of a sell for old Hugh, but it has its merits, nonetheless Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/25/23 Full Review Audience Member If you support fair trade, and if you are coffee addict like I am, ESPECIALLY Laughing Man's coffee, you should see this one. It ought to give you a fresh perspective on appreciation of what's in your coffee mug. Seriously, educational feature, an eye opener for those, who have only seen their coffee on the supermarket shelves. Consider seeing this. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/25/23 Full Review Audience Member 9/5/16 Amazon Video While a bit heavy handed in promoting World Vision and the star power of Hugh Jackman this film promoted a far bigger agenda of consumer involvement in free trade coffee and the benefits of helping reduce world wide poverty and the eco friendly manner this farming is conducted in. It made me a life long customer of Laughing Man products, especially Dukale's Dream so it was successful in its intent. Plus the coffe is darn good. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/12/23 Full Review Audience Member A beautiful film that left me feeling hopeful and empowered! Who knew that the simple act of choosing free-trade coffee could have such a far-reaching and powerful impact on people across the globe! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/15/23 Full Review Audience Member I didn't really understand how Fair Trade worked. It totally makes sense. I also loved watching Hugh on screen. He is beautiful and his process of becoming a coffeeman was really great to see. I feel like I got to see behind the mask of the movie star. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/04/23 Full Review Audience Member This is a really beautifully filmed and related story of the power of how we as consumers impact the lives of small farmers on the other side of the world. Hugh Jackman's process of "enlightenment" as a fair trade supporter and then coffee broker is compelling and convincing. I loved it. A must-see for students and church groups. Really anyone who wants to have an impact in their world. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/25/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
