Rick M After 33 minutes, had to bail on this one. The writing beyond pathetic. As is the acting and direction. I had a difficult time giving it even half a Star. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 03/24/24 Full Review Audience Member Earthrise is a cleverly done sci-fi thriller made for a fraction of the budget movies with that scope of production are usually done. Nice sets, good pacing and a gripping story line. Compelling performance by Meaghin Burke. Glenn Payne is one filmmaker to follow. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/22/23 Full Review Audience Member Great premise, in that earth has now become the alien planet after humanity has relocated to Mars. The acting can feel a little forced in some scenes. As well as the pacing of the film kind of dragged a bit, but it still worth checking out especially if you're into sci-fi! Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/15/23 Full Review Audience Member Though I don't typically gravitate towards Sci-Fi, this film impressed me with its storytelling! It goes to show you, a movie can be compelling regardless of budget. I was impressed how engaged I was with the 3 actors and I appreciated the non-linear narrative that kept me on my toes. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/30/23 Full Review Audience Member I've never seen a micro-budget indie sci-fi movie, and I thought they did a great job creating a believable world within their constraints. The production value is great, and they even pull off some good action scenes. It takes advantage of the claustrophobic caught-on-a-spaceship trope to create a sci-fi thriller for an indie take on 2001 and Alien. It's exciting to see what indie filmmakers are doing now that the cost of filmmaking is within reach, and this movie is a great example. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/25/23 Full Review Audience Member I thought that all the characters were really well developed and portrayed by compelling actors! I enjoyed that the film focuses on the inner personal psychological experience of each member of the crew and how they manage to deal with their own anxiety and fears - sometime dreadful -from long duration journey back to earth while staying a crew. It's really about trust and faith. I also really liked the structure of the movie with interviews of the crew members well placed throughout the film keeping it paced. It kinda made me think of a mix between Europa Report and Das Experiment! Good job! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/27/23 Full Review Read all reviews
