Audience Member Makes me miss EDC! Can't wait to be back! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/13/23 Full Review Audience Member I honestly think this movie is such a sad excuse for a "documentary". Being a raver myself, I see so much potential in writing an engaging and culturally stimulating movie about rave. But sadly, we only have this poorly disguised infomercial and a very bad Netflix original movie. I'm writing a movie about rave that is way more in depth and it spans across all aspects - drug use, crime, gangs, rich party kids, Las Vegas high rollers, and a look into ideas about morality. I poured my heart into this script and I'm hoping that somebody would like to see it. Hmu Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/12/23 Full Review Audience Member Inspired me to go to EDC LV considering it's purely epic. If you're really into EDM I'd recommend this for sure! Try and watch it all at once and not attempt to find the amazing tracks in the movie until the second time you watch it. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/22/23 Full Review Audience Member More like an informercial than a documentary, but still worth watching if you like electronic music Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/26/23 Full Review ken k Eye candy at it's most effective beauty but with a bit more effort on the back stories this could have been a 21st century "Woodstock"! I am very surprised the producers could not see more story line in the folks chosen whose eyes we see the event through. Good choices but not long enough line to catch the BIG FISH here. Still worth the price of admission to see this amazing event on Blu Ray. 3D would have really topped it off! Nicolas Rapold New York Times Very much like an infomercial. Jul 24, 2014 Full Review Cary Darling Fort Worth Star-Telegram/DFW.com Though not a great documentary and essentially a colorful, 3D commercial for Electric Daisy Carnival, it works as both an introduction to a subculture many may be unfamiliar with and as a beat-heavy scrapbook for those who were there. Rated: 3/5 Jul 24, 2014 Full Review Sara Stewart New York Post EDC has made headlines with fatal overdoses, so you'd think directors Dan Cutforth and Jane Lipsitz would examine the role Molly and related drugs play here. But the topic is mentioned only fleetingly. Rated: 2/4 Jul 23, 2014 Full Review Christopher Preston One Room With A View Under the Electric Sky could have been a genuinely interesting social-anthropological documentary. Instead it's a glittery exercise in masturbation. Rated: 1/5 Jun 8, 2019 Full Review Drew Taylor The Playlist "Under The Electric Sky" does a great job of showing the appeal of EDM, and can be an occasionally thrilling document of the musicians who create these infections beats. But on a human level, well, it could have used some more electric participants. Rated: B- Aug 23, 2014 Full Review Jonathan Kiefer SF Weekly There's something slightly queasy-making in how this film summons the tireless piety of a church-recruitment pamphlet to describe what basically amounts to Burning Man as a business model.
