Roger Ebert Chicago Sun-Times [Features] an ending that is not only predictable but (in the way it's handled) one of the more ridiculous final scenes in recent movie history. Rated: 2/4 Oct 23, 2004 Full Review David Nusair Reel Film Reviews Eddie Macon's Run does, for the most part, remain perfectly watchable due mostly to the efforts of its strong cast... Rated: 2.5/4 Aug 29, 2020 Full Review Diego Galán El Pais (Spain) Eddie Macon's Run is a film for immediate consumption, and none of those involved in the movie must be surprised that one starts forgetting about them even during the screening. Audience Member I loved this movie when I was a kid Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/16/23 Full Review Audience Member Okay chase film about nice guy John Schneider sent to prior for a few minor infractions who then escapes during a prison rodeo in order to cross the Mexico border to see his wife and child. The film is basically an episodic road movie with Scheider facing a different adversities, but the main one is dogged detective Kirk Douglas. Like most of his films, Douglas manages to steal every scene that he appears in and I give him credit for most of the film's entertainment value, but overall I found this a pretty forgettable chase film. Lee Purcell also appears in a supporting role as someone who helps Schneider on his run to the Mexico border. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/31/23 Full Review Audience Member A tough as nails cop chases a wrongfully convicted escapee in this tiring drama. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/12/23 Full Review Audience Member I don't know if it's a "made for TV movie" or not. However, it's seems to be. Not that good. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/05/23 Full Review Audience Member I mainly watched this movie because I'm a big fan of The Dukes Of Hazzard & it had John Schneider but Kurt Douglas stole the show.He was great as the beyond determined cop trying to capture Eddie Macon & prove to himself that he isn't over the hill.Eddie Macon's Run is an OK movie & if nothing else it's worth watching just to see Kurt Douglas's performance. Now if I can only get the theme song out of my head....... Don't you know that I love you?
