Simon Abrams House Next Door 03/16/2011
Though it looks like a highly polished, quasi-avant-garde bit of speculative fiction, contemporary French sci-fi flick Eden Log is really a far-flung descendant of the Heavy Metal comics of the '70s and '80s. Go to Full Review

A passable French sci-fi film, but far from great. Go to Full Review

Eden Log is frustrating to follow and has a protagonist almost completely devoid of personality, but Vestiel does have a certain visual flair, even if in this case it seems more suited to a video game than a movie. Go to Full Review

A. S @EternalSunsetofTheSelf Jan 15 I liked this movie. It is really dark and the plot is rather straightforward and interesting, but it resists easy interpretation at first and only becomes clear later on; which makes the experience of piecing it all together pleasurable and engaging. The desaturated color scheme was really soothing and resonated with me. I won't go into spoilers, but expect a dark and twisted sci-fi inversion of several mythological narrative motiffs such as the journey into the abyss, the gnostic journey into knowledge, the labyrinth of the mynotaur, and banishment from paradise. See more 02/08/2020 Garbage film with enough film shaking to give you vertigo. See more 09/29/2019 A dark journey that keeps the viewer questioning what could have happened and how will it all end. A fantastic use of blank and white cinematography to capture the grimey subturanean technology that powers the future. Though it may not be everyone's taste, this film dares to be different and stands out against the high definition CGI action films which are 10 to the penny these days. Love this film!
