Audience Member Saura's third collaboration with Gades, the opening shot starts with a studio shutter closing, with the camera panning across the studio, into the setpiece: a desert town. He lets you know immediately that this is a dramatization on a stage, it is not meant as reality. The story itself is an intriguing multiple-relationship love story, with betrayal, killing, and even a ghost. A bit weaker than the previous 2 films, the third still stands on its own as something very unique in movies. Dance on. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/18/23 Full Review Audience Member Easily the weakest of Saura's Flamenco trilogy, but it's still very good. It just happens to drag. The pace felt really off. Others might feel differently. It's definitely worth checking out. But I feel like you really need to love dance to like this. I'm not that into dance, and I felt like you could watch Blood Wedding and Carmen and not fully be into dance, because those were more about the rehearsal process. This is a finished production. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/19/23 Full Review Audience Member Liked it but not as much as the first in the trilogy. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/20/23 Full Review Audience Member Incredibly intense. Wonderful flamenco dancing and music. Powerful emotions portrayed. Love, passion, betrayal, ghost. This is a great work by Carlos Saura. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/16/23 Full Review Audience Member Theatrical in style and haunting in terms of music, dance and performance. Beautiful work by Saura. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/19/23 Full Review Audience Member Actually more likely "A Bewitched Love", a film that dances, literally in ways that words can only imitates. A visual thriller. Don't watch it just for the music. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
