Tati Benítez (Ignacio Benítez) loves soccer player Diego Maradona; he wears his jersey, has a tattoo of his jersey number and is known for his obsessive knowledge of Argentina's beloved player. After being laid off from his job as a lumberjack, Tati starts collecting wood for a nearby artist. One day, he finds a piece of wood that bears a striking resemblance to Diego. When Tati learns that Diego is in the hospital, he sets out on a journey to present his favorite player with his unusual gift.

Audience Member La imagen de Maradona en el pueblo argentino es algo que solo se puede entender yendo alli. Es increible como para la gente sin recursos El Diego representa esa esperanza clasica para los seres humanos que nacen en la pobreza (rayando con miseria) y que a punto de esfuerzo propio logran salir adelante y triunfar (mas cuando les metes uno de los goles mas recordados en la historia a los ingleses que asesinaron miles de argentinos por unas islas que quedan a solo 700 km de la Argentina). Solo alguien que entienda porque el futbol es tan importante para los paises pobres entendera lo que representa Maradona, mucho mas alla de un populismo tonto, y eso es lo que hace mucho demostro Sorin que tiene claro. Grande Sorin, aun sigue con la capacidad de ver mas adentro del ser humano y de hacer peliculas argentinas que no sean en BsAs (reto grande).
