andrey k This movie deserves attention. It's quite unusual in that it drastically improves as it proceeds, and gains a tremendous weight in the second half, almost like Marie herself grows up enormously in a brief period of time as she challenges her origins. Depardieu and an amazing soundtrack are decisive nails to the decision that this is a good movie, despite my initial concern that I wouldn't be able to sit even through the half of the movie. Some scenes are sublime, as the one where she recognized her father in the pub and sees in his behavior herself. Wonderful direction and acting. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member J'aime beaucoup le cinéma de Jean Becker. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/14/23 Full Review Audience Member French cinema is always keen on telling gritty unhappy stories. Here we are facing a young rebellious girl who's been placed in foster care after the suicide of her mother. The film follows her searching for her long lost dad. It's not a funny film, but it's well done & entertaining especially in the first half. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/26/23 Full Review Audience Member My absolute favorite French movie. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/09/23 Full Review Audience Member Merely a vehicle to prove Vanessa Paradis' talents as an actress. It comes off well, she is more interesting than the film itself. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/19/23 Full Review Audience Member Un de mes film culte Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/29/23 Full Review Read all reviews
