Judy Berman TIME Magazine DeGeneres promised to 'talk about it' in For Your Approval, her farewell stand-up special. Unfortunately, she has nothing of value to say. Oct 1, 2024 Full Review Mark Feeney Boston Globe If you like DeGeneres, and it’s hard not to (unless you worked for her, apparently), all this is enjoyable viewing. Sep 27, 2024 Full Review Matthew Creith TheWrap However it’s perceived, one thing is certain: Ellen DeGeneres’s honesty shines through, making her incredibly, candidly and hysterically relatable. Sep 26, 2024 Full Review Clare Martin Paste Magazine A wishy-washy hour that asks us to care about DeGeneres again, without giving us any reason to in the first place. Rated: 4/10 Oct 4, 2024 Full Review Joy Press Vanity Fair A jokey non-apology that offers little in the way of vulnerability or insight. Sep 27, 2024 Full Review Sean L. McCarthy Decider DeGeneres still has the chops as a shrewd observational comedian, but can she effectively chop away at her own mystique? Yes and no. Sep 26, 2024 Full Review Read all reviews

Chris T Do you want to watch a narcissistic bully grovel for your attention, literally beg you to like her, out of some pathological need for validation? You've heard of comedians "dying" on stage, but this takes it to a level possibly never seen before. Bombing in your own Netflix special, which is overtly a hail Mary to save a ruined career, and bombing in a way which is ironically HILARIOUS because of the rank desperation and total lack of self awareness, actually is SPECIAL. Thank you Netflix. She claims that she's been "kicked out of show business" while hosting her own Netflix special, as if she had nothing to do with what happened to her show and career, which ended precisely because of her personal conduct. You can't make this stuff up, and you can't look away either. You will want to take shower afterwards, as the stench of toxic narcissism tends to cling to one's skin. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 12/06/24 Full Review K H Should have been titled ‘The Fall of Ellen DeGeneres’. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 12/01/24 Full Review Audience Member Absolutely putrid. This woman is so out of touch with reality. She's a straight up narcissist. Netflix, do better. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 11/24/24 Full Review Aubrey G Terrible and completely out of touch stand up. Also, there are obviously a lot of her team or people she has paid to post good reviews on here. Not buying it people actually enjoyed this at all. DO NOT WATCH! Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 12/02/24 Full Review Audience Member Her comedy in America is sub-par, but here in the UK, it's awful. Why is she here? She's going to have a cultural shock when she finds out we have workers rights over here. We don't approve, and instead of being a comeback, it's more like beating a vile horse. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 11/21/24 Full Review Whirled P I thought she was brave and funny. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/18/24 Full Review Read all reviews
