Phoebe D Loved every second of it! This is the movie I wish I'd seen when I was growing up. Zoe Terakes is awesome with incredible on screen chemistry with Sophie Hawkshaw. Marta Dusseldorp and Rachel House bring some experience to the cast. Soundtrack is just perfect! Monica Zanetti has done a spectacular job of bringing to life the awkwardness of a young crush alongside an important history lesson of the LGBTQIA+ community. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/21/23 Full Review kathryn l Super cute lesbian coming of age story with a twist. Loved it from start to finish! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/09/23 Full Review Audience Member Obviously A Rally-Cry Film For Those Dealing With Navigating Their Sexuality, Which For All Teenagers Is A Tumultuous Time. The Let Down Here Is The Story Isn't Well Acted, Lots Of Novice Performances Create A Mixed Bag. It's No Aussie Castle, But It's Not A Low-Budget Write-Off Either. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/21/23 Full Review Audience Member 5 stars for the soundtrack alone!! This one is such a special little film. Clearly a tiny budget but the storytelling and the acting is wonderful. I have a new crush on Zoe Terakes and obsession with Cub Sport. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/09/23 Full Review Audience Member Laughed and cried a whole lot. A great Australian queer movie that you can watch with your mum! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/20/23 Full Review Audience Member I listened to a review by Mark Kermode who said really nice things about this film - and that's why I went looking for it. I think I'll echo his words when I say "It's a bit ramshackle but it's heart is absolutely in the right place" P.s this was apparently shot in 10 days! 10 Days! Mark Kermode Kermode & Mayo's Film Review Good-hearted, and it's a movie that achieves what it sets out to achieve. Very positive, a bit ramshackle, but that's fine. Jun 23, 2021 Full Review Donald Clarke Irish Times A little too well-meaning for its own good, but it would require a heart of anthracite not to wish its protagonist well. Rated: 3/5 Jun 15, 2021 Full Review Jinghua Qian Guardian Ellie & Abbie celebrates queer love - romantic, familial, and intergenerational - in all its distinction. It's nice, it's different, and it's delightful. Rated: 4/5 Nov 27, 2020 Full Review Cris Kennedy The Canberra Times (Australia) I can see what Ellie sees in Abbie. Zoe Terakes has a natural on-screen charm, as viewers who recognise them from their turn in Wentworth will know. Rated: 3/5 Aug 16, 2022 Full Review Sandie Angulo Chen Common Sense Media Ultimately, this is a surprisingly tenderhearted story of coming out, falling in love, and reconciling with the past. Rated: 4/5 Sep 21, 2021 Full Review Ben Turner The Pink Lens A cute coming-of-age comedy, albeit with a supernatural twist. Rated: 3/5 Sep 16, 2021 Full Review Read all reviews
