Audience Member Elvis just takes the stage and he owns it! Every single song, every move. The split screen is still fresh. The behind the scenes are epic. A great experience from beginning to end. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Audience Member Elvis back on form again after the comeback and back on the road. I love this document. Some stand out live moments from the king you dont see anywhere else. Sweet Sweet Spirit Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/17/23 Full Review Audience Member Not groundbreaking as a documentary, but it does offer a great insight into the man at work. It has a nice style too. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review Audience Member Live concert, backstage and other tour footage of Elvis' early-70s tour. Great music, of course, and some interesting behind-the-scenes stuff. Not really a documentary, as there is no narration and no big information grabs. Still, gives a good feel for Elvis' touring life. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/20/23 Full Review Audience Member Where the hell is the DVD of this? LOVE iT!!!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/20/23 Full Review Audience Member What a talent, what a voice. A decent look at how much an influence music played in Elvis's life, how well he could sing, and once he sang a song it became his version that you remember. The lasting image of the movie is how Elvis and his very talented band could just jam and how the jam sessions sounded just as good as the concert footage. Elvis was getting heavy and while this is a documentary of his present day tour there are many cuts of his performances from the past as Elvis at times looks out of it. Danielle Solzman Solzy at the Movies As far as Elvis Presley concert films go, Elvis on Tour is a film for Presley completists but that's about it as the King heads into the final years of his life. Rated: 3/5 Jan 8, 2023 Full Review Austin Kennedy Sin Magazine The filmmaking was energetic and visually interesting to look at. Presley's performance was not. Rated: 2.5/4 May 12, 2012 Full Review Peter Canavese Groucho Reviews Consummate showmanship...evidence of a huge pop idol and savvy showman with a finely tuned stage act. [Blu-ray] Rated: 3.5/4 Aug 16, 2010 Full Review Sean Axmaker Parallax View He's still a dynamic performer but you can already see that he's packing on weight... and at times he seems to be simply falling into familiar rhythms. Aug 11, 2010 Full Review John J. Puccio Movie Metropolis The documentary is not all that original, inventive, or creative, and the singing is mostly routine.
