It takes the babysitter-in-peril genre and spins it on its head with delicious ferocity, making it a horror opus I'd be curious to revisit as soon as the opportunity might arise. Go to Full Review

Michael Thelin's perversely effective debut feature is a little thriller that pokes and prods at the fears of young parents...Thelin builds these traumas slowly, and exploits the natural and playful performances of the kids for maximum queasiness. Go to Full Review

The result is reasonably satisfying, but the direction shifts from tensile to muddy in the run-up to the finale. Go to Full Review

The payoff is great in these types of films it's not just like a home invasion film where you don't know what's going on. Go to Full Review

Yoosik Ethan O Jul 16 After binge watching the Tudors, I’m a fan now of Sarah Bolger so was very curious to watch this. Did not disappoint. She’s a very cunning and disturbed villain in this intense thriller and her performance helps keep you on the edge. See more Jeff T @wolfgod Jan 9 With bad reviews that say things like "it didn't make sense", realize that often people just don't understand the twists and subtleties of a movie that actually makes perfect sense. This movie was great. It made perfect sense if you follow it closely. See more nick s @Nick_S 12/06/2024 The acting was well above average. Even the kids came across as authentic, which I guess comes down to some very patient directing. The pacing, cinematography and sound mixing were spot on. However, I felt a few more special/memorable moments were in order. Also the actions of the Emelie character didn't make sense to me. Given her objective and the tight time frame, why not execute the plan straight away? Could have been in and out in ten minutes. See more Tyler B 10/28/2024 Emilie is well made. The plot is intriguing and well crafted. It gets a bit choppy in the end but it's still enjoyable. See more 08/26/2024 I can only assume low budget film makers are now paying for reviews. This is utterly dreadful. Slow, poorly paced, no real point, hole filled plot and absolutely no direction. DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME! See more Justin T 03/08/2024 I'll say that this is a psychological thriller and not a horror and that is fine, just need to know. I enjoyed it and thought it was good but I won't be watching it again except maybe in 20 years when I've forgotten that I've even seen this one. Production quality is excellent, film looks drab but it matches the tone. It is very well paced and always interesting. The acting is excellent and the characters are engaging. It's well written and directed. It reminded me of Requiem for a Dream (2000) but less personally destructive and a bit of The Hand That Rocks the Cradle (1992) but actually probably better. The only thing I really hated was the ending. There is no conclusion, very disappointing. A bit like The Strangers (2008) I suppose. See more Read all reviews
