Audience Member https://sites.google.com/view/ttbreviews/our-company/emma-smith-my-story Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/05/23 Full Review Audience Member I enjoyed the historical aspects of the movie and imagining the perspective that Emma Smith might have had through such joyous and trying times. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/13/23 Full Review Audience Member After reading the single audience review I found on this movie, I was curious - so I watched it. I have read a lot about the life of Joseph Smith and I found this movie to be very faithful to the known history - and that is the key phrase - KNOWN history. These events took place almost 200 years ago and the records are sparse. The movie might have been more entertaining if it had been more fictional, but it essentially stuck to recorded statements and accounts and chained them together. Consequently, the movie doesn't flow, but feels like it jerks from one event to the next. It surprised me that it even touched on the subject of polygamy and left it where it belonged - in the "no comment" column as expressed by Emma Smith. We are in the dark as to what really happened on a personal level in the lives of those who were involved in the practice - there is not enough evidence to decipher it. What I took away from the film was a greater appreciation of the tremendous suffering that Emma and Joseph experienced throughout their lives and of their faith and dignity in confronting it - something they have in common with many others of great faith throughout the history of the world. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/17/23 Full Review Audience Member This is just a bad seminary movie. Deceptive title, the movie really has nothing to do with Emma. Right when her life got juicy the movie ends. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/17/23 Full Review Audience Member I didn't know much about Emma Smith until I saw this, and it opened my eyes. This brave, elect woman was beside her husband through everything. She's a real hero! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review Audience Member This got high ratings, certainly well told and the other side of the story it shows the woman's perspective of being married to a dedicated man of God.
