Though the film has failed to make any impression, it is an effectively mounted portrait of how regime change can help mask the agendas of the lawless. That two highly-regarded indigenous filmmakers would dare take on such a risky project deserves kudos.

It seems the film only scratched the surface of such complex subject. Human suffering is what makes us, viewers, to understand injustice. Image is not impressive, acting is good. Characters have some inconsistencies and they seem to not fully understanding the gravity of situation.

Although the movie story telling is really monotonous, however, I am happy that finally someone decided to show how destructive this Islamic Revolution has been to Iran. A bunch of thugs and scum-bags took over and destroyed my beautiful country.

It captures what it might feel like to be caught and at the mercy of an oppressive and unpredictable regime. It brought out the common humanity of torturer and tortured. An extremely engrossing film.
