It's all quite entrancing, in a delightfully bonkers way. Go to Full Review

A new formula to explain the basque mythology and a new visit to the concept of the bad and the good. [Full review in Spanish] Go to Full Review

Rather than hot pokers and knives, this duo use bells and chickpeas. That's right, this film is so good that it makes chickpeas scary! So much so that you may very well feel some sympathy for the devil. Go to Full Review

With fantastic set designs and beautifully sombre lighting, The Blacksmith And The Devil transforms nineteenth-century northern Spain into a space all at once mythic and medieval... Go to Full Review

A meritorious production, surely more skillful than plenty of media, does not know whether or not to take itself seriously. [Full Review in Spanish] Go to Full Review

Peter F Dec 6 Not bad. More a fairy tale than a horror. A good cast is a bit let down by mediocre dialogue, way too static camera work and a director who doesn't know how to create tension. Apparent super-low budget also a drag. The thing balances on the edge of tedious, then things take an unexpected turn, it gains unexpected emotional weight, and thereby a stake - and remains freshly unusual from there. Bottom line: quite a bit of amateurishness, still overall not bad at all. See more Yasha H Nov 3 This is a great movie, and does an amazing job bringing a fairytale to life. It isn’t really horror, though it has horror elements. Its main charm is in its delightful aesthetic rather than its scare factor, and if you’re familiar with the fairytale it is based on you will find it a good retelling. Love the use of practical effects, the use of comedy, and thought the set design was really fun. See more Justin T Apr 30 This is incredibly well made, except the acting which is weaker or forgettable, especially from the children. Initially it lacks charm or a hook, the characters and cast are dull and it’s hard to engage with what’s happening. There are some minor issues like the fight choreography and fight cinematography is pretty weak but that is actually fairly minor. The advantage is that it has good writing, it looks beautiful and the final act is very engaging. I actually liked how it actually depicted hell, they showed a vision of what it could look like. Pretty stereotypical but that’s okay. It starts slow but gradually gets better as it goes along. See more Ивайло Ж Mar 24 Extremely disappointing movie. Stupid plot, a questionable story, and funny when it should not be. I was waiting for something to happen but then the movie ended... Literally wasted 1:40min of my life for this. Don't make the same mistake. See more Jens B @Jens97 10/18/2024 🎃 Whew, that was unfortunately a miss. And I really mean "unfortunately," as I consider myself a big fan of folklore. I'm fascinated by the differences and similarities found in the myths and legends of various cultures, especially because they often need to be interpreted in a historical or geographical context. 👺 I was all the more excited about this Basque tale since, apart from their traditional caps and Diavolo, I hadn’t encountered much from this remote region. So, I was even more disappointed with Errementari, as it turned out to be a well-worn story with interchangeable characters, filmed with the quality of a low-budget TV production. 👹 Aside from the set design and a few sequences, nothing really grabbed me here. The lack of atmosphere quickly bored me, I chuckled at the demon/devil/whatever, and then I just got annoyed. And then the film ends exactly like a Simsalagrimm episode? I'm not so sure about that...
