Brent is not a happy director. For weeks, he's had to watch an awful play -- his awful play. Adding insult to injury, he's convinced his wife is having an affair with his idiot leading man. Fortunately for Brent, the theater's Janitor has been mopping the stage long enough to know a dark secret that may help rid him of his troubles. That is, so long as he’s willing to get some blood on his hands.

In some ways, it’s the film equivalent of a car accident: you don’t necessarily root for one person over another, but you’re invested in the events unfolding and you can’t bring yourself to look away. Go to Full Review

A love letter to anyone that has survived live theatre from either side of the curtain mixed with a psycho-thriller mystery constructed to keep you guessing to the last. Go to Full Review

Though it’s neither particularly scary nor laugh-out-loud funny (not that it’s trying to be either), Et Tu is marked by a clever, cunning streak of dark humor that it manages to maintain for most of its runtime. Go to Full Review

TheMovieSearch R @TheMovieSearch Dec 28 Et Tu has a sharp, dark premise about obsession in the theater world, but it never reaches the intensity its concept promises. The idea of ambition pushing someone toward unforgivable choices is gripping, yet the film leans far too heavily on dialogue to carry that weight. Many scenes feel like staged readings instead of cinematic moments, which drains tension and slows the pacing. There are flashes of intrigue when the story hints at its darker turns, but those moments are brief and quickly buried under talky exchanges. The direction seems unsure of its tone, wavering between satire, thriller, and drama, so suspense never fully builds. The cast does solid work and feels committed, even without big names, suggesting a stronger script could have elevated everything. In the end, Et Tu is a missed opportunity: an interesting idea trapped in a flat execution, worth a look for curiosity, but ultimately more frustrating than satisfying. It leaves you wishing for more bold, visual story. More See more Deus V Nov 22 I'm not sure how this film received a 100% at the time I watched this film. I must have not been involved in certain social group to understand the deeper theme of the film. They might as well have killed me too as an audience member because it would have spared me the time I have lost by watching this. Dying would have been better for me than watching this film; but that is the point of what the film is trying to portray - so I will give 1 star for that. If you are against the production of the film, you will no longer be part of the production and everyone else will brown nose and continue on. Lou Diamond Phillips and an enthusiastic cast keep Max Tzannes’ ‘Et Tu’ plenty entertaining despite an otherwise shallow script. Full disclosure, I wanted to distribute this film myself and I just hope to god that everyone watched this!! It's funny, dark, bloody, and heart felt. Malcom McDowell is excellent as always. The whole cast is amazing and the director and editor really flex their skills. You never feel like you're in a contained film, the story moves and the pacing is excellent. Put your phones down and watch every second of this film, you won't regret it!!! RENT IT!!! DON'T WAIT FOR AVOD!!! See more Read all reviews
