      What to Know

      Critics Consensus

While Euphoria's aims are admirable, it's musings on life and death are oddly hollow.

Sara Michelle Fetters [The] superlative performances from Vikander and Green anchor the proceedings in intimately naturalistic substance that's achingly authentic. Rated: 3/4 Jun 29, 2019 Full Review Rex Reed Observer Euphoria should be called Dyspepsia. It lulls you into a disagreeable stupor clearly labeled "who cares?" Rated: 1/4 Jun 28, 2019 Full Review Nick Allen Euphoria struggles to be little more than a hum-drum meditation on kicking the bucket. Rated: 1.5/4 Jun 28, 2019 Full Review Richard Crouse Richard Crouse Assisted death is an issue ripe for drama and yet the movie sidesteps every opportunity for depth with the kind of fake solemnity favored by undertakers. Rated: 1.5/5 Jan 29, 2021 Full Review Nick Rocco Scalia Film Threat It's not that Euphoria lacks good intentions or comes off as superficial in its treatment of death and dying. It's just that there's so much potential for grace or humor or despair or horror inherent in its premise. Rated: 4/10 Aug 27, 2019 Full Review Soham Gadre Film Inquiry Euphoria would have done better to confront and embrace the challenge of an agnostic argument for euthanasia, and there is certainly one to make. Instead, the movie presents its talking points like a checklist. Jul 18, 2019 Full Review Read all reviews

Ian W What a mess. Euthanasia and two unlikable sisters go to a hotel where one of them is to die. Real shame that the hotel wasn't doing a "buy one get one free offer". The Charles Dance character added nothing. The 'party' with a band playing in front of a dozen people might have looked OK on a storyboard, but it failed, miserably. All in all, it was a rubbish watch. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 03/04/24 Full Review Summer W A bit disappointing. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 06/05/23 Full Review Jerod S Sisters off to a wacko place where you go to die (assisted). All their mommy and daddy issues come up, they fight, they draw closer. Vikander is a fav, but this drama slogs a little. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/10/23 Full Review steve d The well matched leads can do nothing with this script. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review lars k Not bad at all. Insight to a sad part of life. Complicated questions, not easy to answers. Very good actors. Alicia Wikander is amazing. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member It's a very sad movie .... 2 sisters find back there bond after a while of being so far ... but that was during the elder sister die because of her illness... she decided to take of her life in a far place beside her sister Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/04/23 Full Review Read all reviews
