Angelo Muredda Cinema Scope It's a relatively fresh conceit, but the assorted set pieces vary too much-not just in terms of aesthetics and length, but of quality-for it to pay off as well as Agüero intends. dave s Eva Doesn't Sleep is a hard film to assess…it's tempting to just leave it at that. The movie essentially follows the corpse of Eva Peron, the beloved First Lady of Argentina, from the time of her embalming in 1952 to the time of her burial in 1976. It's bizarre and unsettling and probably isn't something of interest for mainstream moviegoers. It's beautifully shot with some remarkable archival footage and is told in three parts – her embalming, the military transport of her body, and the events leading to her burial. Beyond that, there's not really much to say other than to give it a go if you like cinematic oddities.
