Cyrus K A very annoying "comedy". Rated 3 out of 5 stars 12/17/22 Full Review Audience Member A vey wild premise that only the Even Stevens crew can pull off filled with humor family tension that's both Important for character depth and comedic material. This movie manages to capture the Identity of the show and transition it to a very entertaining DCOM. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/22/23 Full Review Audience Member The greatest movie based on a Disney Channel sitcom!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/28/23 Full Review Audience Member Decent watch at best, probably won't watch again, and can't recommend except for hardcore "Even Stevens" fans. I specifically binged "Evens Stevens" for this, and the show, even dated, is much better than the movie. This is clearly designed to be an extended episode of the show, but dramatically fails in the pacing that the show was so good at. While I'm a big fan of Christy Carlson Romano, Shia LaBeouf is only a little less crazy than his adult self, and it is the introduction of Tim Meadows that is the big difference in the plot. A mix of "Stuck on an island", "Secret Reality Show", and "Disfunctional Family" tropes, it really is just a lot of "let's mess with this family" for most of the movie. They stray away from the traditional use of family values to exploit the infighting to a point where they act like they're thinking about eating one another. It's fun, but I can't imagine anyone who doesn't have history with this family are going to enjoy the movie. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/18/23 Full Review andy h It's presentation is cheap and unknowing to newer viewers, but it's a satisfying wrap up to an empirical, hilarious series. Hal Boedeker Orlando Sentinel The Even Stevens Movie could make you think of Gilligan's Island -- it's not great television, but fans should be pleased. Sep 11, 2019 Full Review John Leonard New York Magazine/Vulture ... inflates the inexplicably popular TV series into a movie in which the whole obnoxious family thinks it's going on a prepaid holiday to a Pacific island...
