Event Horizon is sci fi horror at its best. Movies like this and Alien that answer the question, what's out there? In a delightfully horrifying way. Cast is solid, story is solid even with its 90s cheese but that just adds to the vibe. Still holds up in 2025, a must watch for the horror genre.

Definitely one of the most iconic horror films of the 90s. Its a shame Paul W S Anderson wasn't allowed to release the unedited cut of this film as it could have had even more of an impact than it already has. Love how Captain Miller immediately tells everyone that they're leaving the ship as soon as some supernatural events occur. The only jarring thing for me was Weirs villainous reveal which seemingly came out of nowhere. Still definitely worth a watch if you're in the mood for some over-the-top action.

In typical W.S. Anderson fashion, an extremely cool concept slowly slips into something almost unserious. Blending science fiction & horror in a unique way really pulls me in with all the scary mystery of deep space. It really just goes for it with loads of campy style that is of its time & can be an awesome time if you embrace the ridiculous dialogue. The set design & strobing lights are excellent as they build an uneasy & strange atmosphere that is clearly the strongest aspect of this film. Hats off for how bold the screenplay is, especially to be backed by a major studio, even if it ends up vastly underutilizing its amazing potential.
