Event Horizon is sci fi horror at its best. Movies like this and Alien that answer the question, what's out there? In a delightfully horrifying way. Cast is solid, story is solid even with its 90s cheese but that just adds to the vibe. Still holds up in 2025, a must watch for the horror genre.

These so-called critics deserve the laughs and jokes that people rightfully make of them; not only are they out of touch with society as a whole, but they are out of touch with their craft. The movie is great! Is it the best horror ever? No, it certainly has its flaws, but it's different and possibly opened the door for many others to follow the recipe.

Despite its cult status, Event Horizon feels like a soup made from clashing ingredients. A bizarre mix of psychological horror, gore, and supernatural elements is weird enough, let alone set in space. Without the supernatural elements, the film could've been a grounded sci-fi film.

Ignore the haters. This is a well paced, stylish sci-fi/horror hybrid that does a much better job of being Hellraiser in space than Hellraiser: Bloodline did. Paul W.S. Anderson gets a lot of grief for being a director who is all "style over substance", but the horror genre is filled with films that have a lot less substance than Event Horizon. The bottom line is that this film looks great, is very well acted and has an engaging story. Event Horizon is an annual rewatch for me. Don’t sleep on this film if you like films that combine horror and science fiction. It’s great.
