Drew Barrymore plays the complicated belle of the climactic ball and develops a convincing intellectually based friendship with the prince. Go to Full Review

The script by Susannah Grant, Rick Parks and director Andy Tennant successfully maintains the story's period trappings while introducing a heroine with modern resonance. Go to Full Review

Given that this is adolescent romance, never straying far from traditional stereotypes, its 'progressive' feel-good aura is mainly down to Barrymore, whose limitations are only exposed in big love scenes. Go to Full Review

thiago s @Thiagostone Nov 8 Filme fraco, o roteiro é fraco, as cenas são fracas, a história é fraca, o elenco é fraco, e ninguém ajuda a melhorar o filme, os personagens são fracos, e o filme deveria ter cenas bem melhores e relevantes, para fazer o filme ser bom See more Joel H Sep 11 I remember watching Ever After when it first released. I was a teenager then, so I was obviously smitten by… Marguerite, but I was also impressed with this alternate version of the Cinderella story I knew so well. Watching it decades later, I’m still impressed with the overall look and feel of this film. Yes, it’s a little corny. Yes, Drew Barrymore’s acting is a little clumsy. Yes, everything gets wrapped up in a nice, tidy, package in the end. However, it’s a story based on a fairy tale, so I can’t judge it too harshly for all that. And I will continue to happily watch Ever After in the coming years. See more Trey C Jun 20 This movie is in my top 5 favorites of all time. Smartly written, exquisitely acted, and well developed! It is one of a very few fairytales told in a way that you can believe it was the real origin of the children's book version...and that the real story would have been better than the fairytale. I have probably watched this 20 times & my daughter has done the same even into adulthood. My adult son saw it when he was about 19-20 and said he was surprised that it turned out to be a great movie...not trapping itself in a single genre or a narrow audience. It doesn't preach...it inspires. It refused to diminish love for strength or strength for love. It has messages about personal agency, conviction, human dignity and value. One of the greats! See more Giovana L May 31 É bom, só que eu não gostei, um progresso muito lento, esse príncipe não me agradou, uma cara de melancólico,e ainda nem é bonito nem apaixonante, não tem nem conto de fadas nenhum 😪 See more Mar 22 I am not sure if Hollywood will ever make a princess story like this again or The Princess Bride. Disney cannot deliver and the CGI of their films is just cringe. This movie relies on pure gorgeous costume design, heart-felt scripts (no singing thank goodness), and raw acting with a unique storyline that still honors the original, adding that the Prince is pressured to marry a royal rather than commoner. Perfect film. See more Feb 17 It’s was a good take on a Disney classic and it worked well I’d say so if you have free time and noting to watch watch this movie See more Read all reviews
