Noel Murray Los Angeles Times 08/08/2019
The ultimate payoff in "Every Time I Die" is too soft, given all the buildup. But the film works well when it's purely existential - just telling the story of a person with a hazy memory, trying to survive long enough to understand his own life. Go to Full Review
Frank Scheck The Hollywood Reporter 08/08/2019
The film bodes well for its talented director/co-screenwriter who might well achieve bigger things with a more generous budget. Go to Full Review

A character-driven supernatural thriller that keeps viewers puzzling out what's happening along with its main character, Every Time I Die introduces a director and actors to watch out for. Go to Full Review
Keri O'Shea Warped Perspective 07/12/2020

Overall, Every Time I Die has a rather languid, sombre tone, which makes the occasional, rapid changes of pace and action genuinely unsettling, jerking the viewer into a sense of alarm. Go to Full Review

With just a singular location and five characters Michael and Katzir hurdle us into a mind-bending metaphysical thriller that is, truly, remarkable. Go to Full Review

Diana S 09/14/2023 Writing is trite and irritating. Actor that plays the original Sam is wooden and annoying. It's like if Ghost and some awful Lifetime thriller had a baby. Six thumbs down. See more Orlando C @orrman 07/25/2023 What an engaging, interesting, and dare I say, sweet film? I have seen so many horrible free films on Prime that it was refreshing to watch something that had deeper themes and characters you actually cared for. It's very small budget, the weird wormhole thingy is about all the CGI you're going to get, but it's effective enough to suspend your disbelief. Of course, that whole thing isn't really explained, but unlike most small-budget films, it's not a dealbreaker or really important to the themes of the film. Yes, the big reveal is telegraphed about half-way through the film but I honestly don't think the film makers really cared you could figure it out. But If you're mature enough to see something that unfolds in a very deliberate and interesting way, instead of hitting you over the head, you're going to really enjoy this film. See more 01/24/2022 This movie shows you that you don't need much of a budget to make something engaging. Some of the acting could use some work but the story and the directing make up for it. Looking forward to what this director does next! See more 01/20/2022 It was actually a decent concept. I could see the final revelation coming by halfway through the movie. It was just cheap, though. See more 11/23/2020 Good move I liked it. Not-a-Spoiler: Surprised how many people in comments asking what the cloud vortex is. Really surprised. Its the proverbial [light at the end of the tunnel, complete with both tunnel and light] that ur spirit goes through when u die that every movie and story has talked about for the past unknowlably yugely bigly number of years. The one that if u get sidetracked for whatever reason such as unfinished business ur spirit stays behind and becomes a ghost or go find urself a body to inhabit. a well known concept for very long time now. SPOILERs ahead: Some were seemingly unsure of what the blackouts are about. Sam isn't sam. Sam is Sara conditioned by not wanting her parents to be unhappy and the therapist telling her she is just confused and guilty and acting out by acting like Sara to acting like she is sam and then living as if she is Sam. Sam number 2 is also in there and he is recessive and she is dominant. He is in charge during the blackouts. Sam number 1 is in charge the rest of the time. 2 spirits in one body. It shows her changing her mind about heading off to 'whatever name u call the afterlife' when the charging paddles are applied to attempt to jump start her heart, then she hovers around the hospital temporarily considering the old lady before whispering to Sam and settling in to call his body Home. The only problem I have with that concept is that it has both their spirits for the sake of the twist acting as if they are combined. They both leave at death and claim a new home together continuously then leave together at the end. Or original Sam leaves when his body dies and only Sara stays around. They have it for the sake of the 'twist' but it leaves it in odd territory for the sake of they should be two separate entitites when the body is gone but their acting as if they are one because that is what the audience is supposed to assume. Could call it a plothole. See more 10/31/2020 Sooooo boring! Cut after 45 minutes. See more Read all reviews
