Eighteen-year-old Jay has had enough of life. Twenty-eight-year-old Liz can't get enough of it. And as Jay (Jordan Dulieu) stands on a cliff top contemplating putting an end to the meaningless fog of his existence, Liz (Freyja Benjamin) lands in town on the latest leg of her endless adventures backpacking the globe. After a sliding doors moment brings this unlikely pair together, they form a deep and immediate bond -- much to the chagrin of Jay's privileged but jaded socialite parents (Gigi Edgley & Martin Crewes). Unfortunately, Liz's laissez-faire lifestyle is brought to an abrupt halt by a life-threatening mystery illness, and as Jay becomes more and more entwined in her plight, all four are forced to come to terms with their world views in this harrowing, provocative, yet ultimately uplifting saga.

David Stratton The Australian As Liz, Benjamin evokes the young Barbara Hershey, while Dulieu is excellent as the troubled Jay, bringing surprising nuance to what could have been a routine character. Rated: 3.5/5 Mar 15, 2023 Full Review David Griffiths Subculture Entertainment Brilliantly written romantic drama that is made even better by the outstanding performances of its main cast. One of the best films of the year. Rated: 5/5 Sep 12, 2023 Full Review Joshua Starnes Firing the Canon As philosophical think piece on existence, Everything trends towards empty pop psychology but as interpersonal character drama it soars. The worse things get, the better Everything becomes. Rated: 6.75/10 Jul 29, 2023 Full Review Evan Dossey Midwest Film Journal Plot-wise, you won’t anything new out of Everything in Between, but it’s nonetheless a gorgeous film, well-told and well-acted. Jul 1, 2023 Full Review Annette Basile FILMINK (Australia) It’s not perfect, but ultimately, Everything In Between is poignant, involving and rewarding viewing. Pippa J I really enjoyed this film. Both Jordan & Freja (apologies if spelling is off) were great in their roles. No glamourising, just real feels. Touches you to the heart. Makes you think. Makes you a better person. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 05/01/23 Full Review Paul M Great film. Uplifting, light and entertaining. Well worth checking out! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/30/23 Full Review Brita B BritaB I have seen "Everything in Between" twice and got so much more out of the second viewing. Depressed Jay has a sliding doors moment with world traveller Liz . Their relationship progresses quickly due to a mystery illness. Jay's parents inspire most of the laughs and Liz brings us all to tears. The characters are well written and acted and Sydney looks great. It's a treat to see an independent Australian film at the cinema. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 04/23/23 Full Review Read all reviews
