It's like a shooting star across the cinematic sky, dig? The script and soundtrack, man, they're like jazz notes improvising together in perfect harmony. The acting, it's a symphony of souls baring it all on that silver screen canvas. And the editing, oh boy, it's like a wild ride on the road of creativity, taking turns you never even thought existed. This film, it's a beatnik's dream, a tapestry woven with threads of pure artistic fire. It's a howl and a whisper, man, a masterpiece in motion. The narrative is pretty raw in its exploration of people down and out just trying to live life and be left alone with their dog, which admittedly they stole. Bartone has intense simultaneous story arcs going on. He keeps it all moving deftly, allowing the stories to unfold and intersect without any pretense. The scenes are filmed much the same way, with a clear eye that's not trying to soften the characters' lives and he brings out fantastic performances from the cast. My only disagreement is with the description of the film being about "facing a meaningless existence."
