Ben Kenigsberg New York Times By turns heartfelt and, especially in the ghost tête-à-têtes, irksome, the movie is helped substantially by its cast, especially Cranston, who brings a welcome sincerity to a quixotic, potentially cloying character. Jun 23, 2025 Full Review William Bibbiani TheWrap Jon S. Baird’s kind and cutting drama about a family trying, failing, and trying all over again to make it in the theater is a heartening drama and a great big smile of a comedy. Jun 20, 2025 Full Review Cortlyn Kelly RogerEbert.com While the film’s storyline is charming, it falters slightly in its grounding of the plot. Rated: 3/4 Jun 19, 2025 Full Review Mark Jackson Epoch Times Both Bryan Cranston and Allison Janney know they're above this quaint movie, but as consummate showbiz pros, they admirably don’t phone in their performances. Rated: 3/5 Jul 19, 2025 Full Review Robert Stinner In Review Online Family strife and backstage drama have formed the material for many great films, but in the case of Everything’s Going to Be Great, the viewer is never given a good reason to emotionally invest in the theatrical family at its center. Jul 14, 2025 Full Review Maxance Vincent Film Speak The succession of melodrama that unfolds in the span of five minutes feels worthy of Tyler Perry’s worst instincts, and the impact is blunted whenever the most tragic moment happens and shifts the story in a different direction than we envisioned. Anita M It was entertaining. Sad that the Dad passed away so soon. My husband liked it so much he thought it ended too soon. Sorry to see the mom committing adultery. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 07/16/25 Full Review Mr. Hollywood Was a decent enough film, with a surprise that saves the film. The main kid was annoying and couldnt carry this film at all. And the girl with her older-than-thou-knowledge of life was a cliche but a welcome from the main story. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 07/10/25 Full Review Rex Wholesome perfectly casted, greatly acted story that resinated childhood memories exploring Beverly Hills railroad tracks, mouthful of talcum power & lives going different directions loved it! Im sure to portray the events it was necessary but, too bad the need for the R rating. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 07/01/25 Full Review Paul K Well acted by everyone with some interesting moments. It kept my attention and was interesting. Im still wondering what the purpose of the plot was and what they were trying to say with this film. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 06/29/25 Full Review Erica It was so good. And you cant beat the cast. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 06/22/25 Full Review Brian R Steven Rogers wrote a deeply touching tale that leads us into the not often explored realm of a family navigating its way through the world of regional theater. Simultaneously charming and witty, this story is led by the dependably courageous Allison Jennings and Bryan Cranston - the film inspires goosebumps will make your heart sing!
