Blu B It's crazy this was allowed to be made even in 73'. It goes to show how deep the american peoples trust had eroded in the government by this time. That being said the biggest problem this has is until the final 15-20 minutes it's very dry and boring and just alright. It's just guys sitting around talking...and talking...and more talking...and expose. It bounces around setting up the conspiracy but it never really builds any character with the conpirators using them as plot drivers more than anything. It's like All the President's Men in that regard where it has a documentary feel to the whole thing that's very dry and boring. However when we get to the actual assassination it's tightly done and does a great job merging the stock footage and creating the sense of chaos and franticness. It's crazy how it just ends right after Oswald is killed too. Overall the pacing, cinematography, and editing isn't bad thanks to the ending that really helps this. It's just a shame they couldn't build interesting characters to go along with this. It would've made this much less dry and possibly a better director would've helped too like a DePalma or Paluka. It's crazy how this isn't talked about more given the subject matter. Anyone who is interested in the JFK assassination or fans of any actors in this (or both) should check this out. Most could skip this interesting footnote though. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 11/21/24 Full Review Cees T Instead of too many characters yapping for half the movie and nobody but i guess the dead material witnesses hearing 4 shots and finding 4 bullets/trajectories, i'd rather watch a documentary like I Shot JFK, wherein James Files claims to have fired the deadly shot. 5.5/10 - Meh. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 07/18/24 Full Review Steve D Conspiracy nonsense that ropes in odd amounts of talent. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 04/20/24 Full Review michael d Well done sleeper film on the JFK assassination. Made a long time before Oliver Stone and a lot cheaper. Great actors, director, and screenplay. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/16/22 Full Review delysid d deep state conspiracy Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/14/22 Full Review Audience Member Whether or not you believe Oswald was a lone nut working alone, or believe that some things were just too coincidental to be anything but the by-product of a wider conspiracy, this story is well-written by former blacklisted writer, Dalton Trumbo, and is as plausible an explanation of all the unanswered questions about the JFK assassination as was the joke of an investigation called the Warren Report or the ridiculous "magic bullet" theory that Sen. Spector had the audacity to propose and stick with, Eminently watchable crime drama, even if not Burt Lancaster or Robert Ryan's best acting work Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/21/23 Full Review Read all reviews
