Years ago, Tanner (Douglas Smith; Don't Worry Darling, Big Little Lies, Big Love) was kidnapped, tortured, and poisoned by an unknown assailant. After being inexplicably let go, he was left obsessed with the idea that his kidnapper was still out to get him. Day in and day out, his compulsive checking to confirm that his house is secure and his food is safe to eat slowly erodes his relationship with his patient and caring wife, Nicole (Margo Harshman; NCIS, The Big Bang Theory, Even Stevens). One day, Nicole hears that the man who did this to Tanner was released from prison earlier than expected, and Tanner's obsession spirals out of control. To save her marriage, Nicole forces him to face his fears head-on with exposure therapy, and ultimately confront the fact that he's experiencing obsessive compulsive disorder. Reluctant at first, he takes to it well--and perhaps to a dangerous level.

Louisa Moore Screen Zealots What could have been a gripping psychological thriller is hampered by a sluggish narrative, amateurish performances, and too-artistic visual choices that become an annoyance and distraction. Sep 2, 2024 Full Review Jenn Adams Strong Female Antagonist Peter Cannon’s Exposure pulls us into this world by following a man teetering on the edge. This sensitive, but harrowing film brilliantly exposes the brutal reality of OCD while revealing a world in which recovery is possible. Rated: A Jul 16, 2024 Full Review Rachel LaBonte Screen Rant In its determination to paint a nuanced portrait of obsessive compulsive disorder, Exposure largely succeeds. Jun 28, 2024 Full Review Sabina Dana Plasse Film Threat The excellent sound effects and editing build up the suspense. The well-placed visual cues — I especially enjoyed seeing a public phone — and cinematography add to the tense atmosphere. Rated: 8/10 Oct 18, 2023 Full Review Federico Furzan Movie-Blogger.com Peter Cannon‘s Exposure is a brilliant film. Written as a character-driven idea, the film navigates smoothly through a grounded plot that never goes of its way to unnecessarily step on other territories. Douglas Smith is a fantastic performer in the film. Rated: 4.5/5 Oct 16, 2023 Full Review Read all reviews
