I liked the quirky and innocent feel of the movie. Paul Dano's performance is top notch. I enjoyed John C, Riley's role also. The movie treated a sensitive subject (a young man's gender identity) respectfully. An interesting and watchable little movie.

I don't know why these movies don't get better reviews. I really liked this movie. I read the book, so maybe that made me more into it? I really like Jonathan Ames wit! It's quirky with, I guess, non-mainstream sexuality.

A lost opportunity to be a very good movie ! Not to mention the last 20 minutes... That's a pity: The acting is well done and the main characters are empathetic more than bizarre. But something went wrong at the end...
