Paul Lê Nightmare on Film Street 07/20/2023
6/10
At the very least, Extracurricular is daring. It's unfriendly, mean-spirited, and unlike other teen horrors coming out nowadays. It's a risky venture that forgoes a key element that makes any film memorable—emotion. Go to Full Review
Lynnette Nicholas Common Sense Media 03/20/2020
2/5
Dark, morbid teen horror with lots of blood, gore, murder. Go to Full Review
Joey Keogh Wicked Horror 09/25/2019
8/10
Dark, funny, thrilling, and loaded with YA menace, this is a refreshingly modern take on typical slasher tropes that sticks the landing without having to go anywhere near the big dance. Go to Full Review
Rich Cline Shadows on the Wall 09/03/2019
3/5
Director Ray Xue establishes a dark and very serious tone while keeping things authentic with offhanded interaction and complex character detail. Go to Full Review
Kat Hughes THN 08/28/2019
2/5
A dreary and flat exploration of teens killing teens; given the taboo topic, Extracurricular could have been so much better. Go to Full Review
Anton Bitel SciFiNow 08/28/2019
if these four high-achieving, middle-class kids are more than happy to exploit, objectify & assassinate strangers for their own kicks, then we are left to wonder what they are capable of doing to their friends, their loved ones and each other. Go to Full Review

bryan b @heybryan 12/21/2021 Murderous psychopath goonies. Dexter would be proud. See more 02/24/2021 Really good watch, could watch again, and can recommend. There really aren't enough movies where the villains are the protagonist. These are all awful characters that are also killers so it's hard to root for them. I can't tell if it is poor performance from the actors or badly written characters, but this is clearly written by someone with a love of true crimes and tactical assessment. It is really impressive with the work put in to make the planned executions believable and how twisted the events get. See more 01/26/2021 Potential to be great, parts of the movie promise lots, but that ending...woof. It felt like the writers, producers and director were desperate to get to the wrap party and just decided "hey guys, the buffet is getting cold, let's just call it a day". What a waste of potential. Eurgh. See more 01/23/2021 I kept waiting for some sort of reveal as to why the characters were doing what they were doing.... nada. Just a bunch of upper-middle class, entitled, American teenagers, with too much time on their hands. The lack of motivation made this movie incredibly boring. I'd like my time back, please. See more 12/31/2020 The gay crap made me turn it off. Slow and stupid See more 10/21/2020 There are so many unnecessary scenes and the acting is not smooth. The ending is a bit weird or like not finish and for the 2019 thriller movie the CG is bad. See more Read all reviews
